Erection Minded practices a psychotherapy developed over many years called Penis-Centred Therapy (PCT). PCT’s focus is on helping men behaviourally and mentally with whatever is felt to be problematic concerning their penis and sexual functioning. From this, the whole person is considered.
PCT draws on the best of therapeutic approaches and knowledge relevant to men's sexual functioning. Therapeutic sources include contemporary psychosexual therapy, general psychotherapy/counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, and hypnotherapy. The worth of these methods across many psychological problems is clinically established; they’re ‘evidence based’.
PCT is always tailored for the individual client and his problem(s). Each and every client is considered a supremely special person. No client deserves or receives formulaic therapy methods. Therapy is conducted in accord with a client's unique history and needs.
With Erection Minded, a client always has a safe and supportive environment. Everything that a client says will be attentively listened to and considered. His experiences and troubles will be heard.
Typical psychosexual therapy mostly concerns helping couples to keep sexual relationships. By contrast, PCT focuses on you as an individual with the sexual. You may or may not be in a relationship. Our concern will anyway be YOUR issues, YOUR desires, YOUR fulfilments, YOUR pleasure.
Erection Minded is 100% ‘sex positive’. This philosophy sees all types of consensual sexual activities as healthy, normal and pleasurable aspects of the human condition. Interest in sexual acivities solely for the sake of raw sexual pleasure is absolutely legitimate, as is focus on wanting and obtaining raw sexual pleasure for the sake it. Further, there’s no moral differentiation between different consensual sexual activities; engagement in any is a matter of personal choice. Your pleasure - however derived - is paramount.
The sex positive stance considers your personal sovereignity over sexual choices - and over any aspect of your sexuality - to be absolute. You have the freedom and highest authority to engage in and be what you wish to (with consensual agreement of any participants) and to not engage in or be what you don't wish to.
Erection Minded will hold your soverignity dearly. As needed we can look at it and reinforce it. Attention to your personal sovereignity will positively permeate your life in all ways, as well as with the sexual.
Erection Minded provides treatment sessions online, via (Skype) video-calls. Online therapy is now not uncommon. It isn't a lesser medium of treatment. Research indicates its effectiveness matches that of ‘in person’ therapy.
In principal, a client, can be situated anywhere for the video call with Erection Minded. Privacy and absence of interruption are important, as is the freedom to let oneself be immersed in a session.
Understandably, a client may be initially apprehensive over ‘Skyping a stranger’. He doesn't have to be. Experience shows this apprehension quickly diminishes upon getting started. The interaction soon feels like a traditional client-therapist one.
Similarly, a client may well anticipate being awkward over disclosing highly personal details. Have faith that awkwardness too will melt – surprising quickly – once we’re underway. Having you comfortable as possible in the sessions is integral to what Erection Minded does. Becoming at ease with talking openly about yourself and your sexual functioning is, in fact, itself therapeutic.
Clients should be prepared for examination of their life and thoughts. Honesty and openness should be strived for, even with discomforting matters.
Clients need to be willing to work with Erection Minded. The client’s contributions are always essential to the treatment process.
